5G-GeniusNetwork in Kamenz
Before Minister of State Schmidt, the competence center AEF with the 5G Lab Germany has reaffirmed the advantages of a real laboratory and its importance for the region. In use is the 5G campus network from CampusGenius.
With the groundbreaking ceremony, a short interview with Thomas Höschele, CEO of CampusGenius GmbH, on the subject of 5G was also recorded and broadcast on MDR Report.
The Competence Center for Autonomous and Electric Flying at the Kamenz airfield will bundle expertise in electric and hybrid propulsion systems with a focus on battery and hydrogen technology, as well as swarm applications, data transmission/data security and autonomous navigation using artificial intelligence. The focus is on holistic approaches that take into account economic, ecological and social sustainability.
Fraunhofer institutes, universities, companies from a wide range of industries, the city of Kamenz and partners in Thuringia, Brandenburg, France, Poland and the Czech Republic are involved in the initiative to establish the network.
With its very good framework conditions, the real laboratory currently being set up in Kamenz enables field trials and extensive tests with electrically powered flying devices, such as commercial drones and subsequently flying cabs.
